Lori Marshall was born and raised in New Orleans. After receiving her BA in Psychology from the University of New Orleans in 2001, she began working with children, juveniles and adults with substance abuse issues and other mental health disorders at DePaul/Tulane Behavioral Health Center. In 2006, Lori then went on to earn her Master’s in Social Work, (MSW) from Southern University at New Orleans. Since then she has worked at River Oaks Psychiatric Hospital as a social worker participating in patients’ treatment plans and delivery of social services needed for individuals and their families with mood, depressive and psychotic disorders. Additionally, she was the Juvenile Case Manager for Total Sentencing Alternatives Programs, (TSAP), which provided an alternative to detention for court involved youths through the use of electronic monitoring/house arrest. Currently, Lori is an Investigator/Youth Advocate at JRS.
Lori has an 18 year old stepdaughter, whom she is very proud of, who will be transferring in 2008 from LSU to UNO. She is a sophomore majoring in Engineering, which is a subject that Lori knows absolutely nothing about and therefore will not be able to assist her stepdaughter in whatsoever.
